Tilak is not on the forehead but in the Heart

Today's elixir
Like the love of the family,so is the Guru.
Say Kabir Ta Das, why don't you take care of him.

A long time ago, a beggar used to beg outside a temple. (He was a disciple of a very great Mahatma ji who was a complete saint) His age had crossed some sixty.
The people coming and going would put something or the other in the vessel placed in front of him. People put anything, he had never even opened his eyes to see who put what.Other beggars and their children used to take advantage of this habit of his sitting around him. They used to clean their hands from his vessel after a while.
Many also used to tell him that if you keep sleeping, then everything will be stolen from you. He also used to ignore their sayings. Little did anyone know that he was dyed with the love of the Lord. At all times, the memory of the Guru kept him immersed in himself. One day, in the state of meditation, he came to know that his own age would reach ninety. Knowing this, he became very sad. Life was going through so many difficulties already and from above knowing about his age for so long - he started getting worried thinking. One day he thought of his Guru's age. He knew that Gurudev was around fifty. But it came to his knowledge that Gurudev would only stay for two more years. He became even more depressed after knowing about Gurudev's full age. Every now and then, drops started dripping from his eyes. But there was no such thing in his own control. What could he have done, except shedding tears.

One morning a husband and wife came to the temple. Both of them were also disciples of the same guru whose disciple was that beggar. They did not know the beggar, but the beggar knew that both husband and wife were also disciples of the same Guru. Both the husband and wife reached near by pouring something or the other into the beggar's pots sitting in the line. The beggar bowed to them with folded hands, just as someone who comes to the house does to his guru brothers. Both of them could not remain without being impressed by the beggar's loving obeisance. They could not know that the beggar had bowed to his Gurudev sitting inside both of them.

He understood that the beggar must have expected something more from him who had greeted him so lovingly. The husband looked at the beggar and asked very lovingly, do you want to say something or need something more? The beggar took out a coin from his pot and while moving towards him said, when you go to see Gurudev, then keep this coin from my side as an offering at his feet. Husband and wife looked at each other, saw his faith, but a coin, that too at the feet of the guru! Husband started thinking what should I say, that a coin! Sometimes a coin was presented to the guru, perhaps no one would have given it, never saw it.

Husband sees the beggar's reverence, then sometimes he sees the coin. Thinking about something, the husband said, keep this coin with you, we will keep it at his feet by your side. No, you keep this at his feet. The beggar said very humbly and with folded hands. Tears started pouring out of his eyes too. The beggar picked up a piece of paper from there and wrapped the coin in it. When the husband and wife agreed to go, the beggar asked, when will the Bhandara be held there?
Bhandara is tomorrow, tomorrow is Gurudev's birthday, isn't it? The beggar's eyes lit up. It seemed that he would also arrive, on the occasion of Gurudev's birthday.
Both the husband and wife left with the coin given by him. The next day there was a Bhandara in the ashram to celebrate the birthday (of Gurudev). That beggar also reached the ashram early in the morning. Many disciples were coming for the celebration of Bhandara. But the beggar did not dare to go inside. He stood there on one side that perhaps the servant standing at the gate should give him a chance to go inside. But the servitor was repeatedly asking him to leave from there.

The afternoon also passed, but he was not allowed to go inside. The beggar went away from the gate and stood there under the shade of a tree.
At the same time, after getting out of a car at the gate, both the husband and wife went inside. One, the beggar did not dare to go and remind him of his coin and tell him not to forget my gift. And second, they were probably in a hurry too, so they went inside quickly.
And the poor beggar, a poor man, a tight stature and torn clothes were making him helpless so that he could not go in.
On the other hand both husband and wife appeared in front of Gurudev, there were many gifts and gifts with them, placed at the feet of Gurudev. When the wife said something in her ear, the husband remembered the gift given to him by the beggar. He took the coin wrapped in a piece of paper out of his pocket, and had just extended his hand towards the feet of the Guru, Gurudev stood up from the seat, Gurudev extended both his hands and took the coin in his hand, Gurudev put that gift on his head and asked, where is the person giving this gift, why did he not come himself?

Gurudev closed his eyes, opened his eyes in a while and said, he is sitting outside, go bring him inside. Husband went out, he looked here and there. He saw the beggar sitting there in the shade of the tree. The husband went to the beggar and told him that Gurudev had accepted his offering and called in.The beggar's eyes lit up. He went inside with her, bowed to Gurudev and he thanked Gurudev for accepting his offering.

Gurudev also inquired about his condition and said if you want anything from the house of the Lord, tell me it will be available today. The beggar folded both his hands and said - I have brought one more gift for you, I want that gift from the house of the Lord as well. Yes, where is it? He was empty handed, he could not see anything to offer, everyone was surprised to see what the gift would be!
Oh Gurudev, I have to survive by begging, I am a burden on this society. This society does not need me at all. But O my Gurudev, the society is in dire need of you, you will stay, will take many back to your home.
That is why my Gurudev, I am giving you my remaining life as an offering. Please accept it." As soon as he said this, the beggar bowed at the feet of Gurudev and did not get up again. Never got up.
There was an uproar that what has happened, how did it happen? All the devotees started looking towards Gurudev with the eyes of readers.
One said, we must have told many times that brother, you should take my age, but we have never felt it. But what is this, how did this happen?
Gurudev said, its talk was heard only because the spot on its forehead was shining. You were not listened to because there was no glow in the tilak on the forehead.
Everyone looked at his forehead, there was no tilak there. Gurudev understood the confusion of everyone's mind and said that the comment is not on the top, but on the inner forehead.
