Why are Akhand Jyots lit in Navratri?

Along with the worship of nine forms of Goddess Durga, which lasts for nine days, there is a Ghatasthapana in many houses on this holy festival, and in many places there is a law of unbroken flame. The people who worship Shakti worship Maa Durga by lighting an unbroken flame. Akhand Jyoti means such a light which is not broken. The Akhand Jyot should remain unbroken for the whole nine days, that is, it should be kept burning. Ankhand lamp should be properly lit by chanting. Many rules are followed in Navratri.

Importance of Akhand Jyoti

Akhand Jyot is very important in Navratri. Its extinguishing is considered inauspicious. Wherever this unbroken flame is lit, the presence of someone or the other is necessary, they do not leave it deserted. In a Akhand Jyot, the flame of the lamp should be lit from left to right. This type of burning lamp is an indicator of economic attainment. The heat of the lamp should be felt around 4 fingers from the lamp, due to which the lamp is an indicator of fortune. The lamp whose flame is of the same color as gold, that lamp brings rain of wealth and grain in your life and gives the message of progress in business. For one year continuously, by burning the Akhad Jyoti, there is a shower of all kinds of happiness. Such a lamp removes all kinds of problems like Vastu defects, afflictions, stress, poverty etc. It is considered inauspicious if your unbroken flame gets extinguished on its own without any reason. The lamp should not be changed frequently. Lighting a lamp with a lamp is also considered inauspicious. By doing this disease increases, there are obstacles in auspicious work. There is a provision to light an unbroken flame in the rituals or sadhna done with a resolution. The work of pouring ghee into the Akhand Jyoti or any change in it should be done by the Sadhak only, and should not be done by any other person. Ankhed Jyot is also good for health, in fact it is believed that by lighting an Akhad Jyoti in front of the mother, there is always the grace of the mother in that house. Lighting ankhed lamp in Navratri is also good for health because the smell of ghee and camphor keeps the human's breathing and nervous system good. Mother never gets angry with her devotees by lighting a monolithic lamp in Navratri. In Navratri, there is never any shadow of random things at the place of worship due to the unbroken light. By lighting an unbroken lamp of ghee or oil in Navratri, negative thoughts never dominate the mind and the mind remains happy and calm. The smell of fragrant lamps in the house keeps the mind calm, due to which there are no quarrels in the house, the atmosphere remains calm.
